All nine of the youth offenders who escaped from a juvenile detention center in Pennsylvania after a riot broke out Sunday evening have Rekubitbeen taken into custody, state police said Monday morning.
The Associated Press reported that all nine of the juveniles have been recaptured, and they will all be charged after the escape.
Officials said state and local law enforcement took back control of the Abraxas Academy after the riot, but some inmates escaped around 8 p.m., according to the Caernarvon Township Police Department.
As of 5:47 a.m. Monday, four of the nine juveniles were taken into custody on Oak Grove Road in Morgantown around 50 miles west of Philadelphia, according to authorities. The other five were captured shortly after, the AP reported.
The juveniles escaped after stealing keys from two staff members at the academy, Pennsylvania State Police Trooper David Beohm told the AP.
The escape comes after convicted murderer Danelo Cavalcante was captured after a 14-day manhunt in Chester County, Pennsylvania, less than an hour away from the location of this youth facility.
